Chelsea captain John Terry may end up in the cash-rich Chinese Super League (CSL) next season, as several media reports suggested that the former England captain is being resolutely pursued by Shanghai Shenhua.

The Far East club has reportedly offered a lucrative one year contract to Terry. The chances of Chelsea legend lapping up this contract stands pretty high, as there are only six months left in his current contract.

Terry's possible move to the Chinese league is also helped by the fact that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not interested in extending his contract. Conte is reported to have taken 'age factor' into account while deciding on the contract extension. The Chelsea defender is currently 35 years old, well beyond his prime years.

Meanwhile, CSL giant Guangzhou Evergrande is also going full throttle in pursuing Terry. The club's manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is showing keen interest in signing the Chelsea legend.

Terry has still not opened up about his future plans and whether he is really excited to play in China next season. The defender is reported to have taken a coaching badge and is a regular at Chelsea's academy.

If Terry does lap up the Chinese contract, then it will be an end to his glittering career at Stamford Bridge. The defender has represented Blues for more than 500 games during his decade-long career. He is the club's highest scoring defender and has won all the coveted titles while captaining Chelsea, including the UEFA Champions League.

Terry's entry will certainly add more glitter to CSL, which over the years has lapped up several big soccer stars.
