Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to play at the cash rich Chinese Super League (CSL), extending his stay at English club Manchester Untied where he joined as a free agent this season.

What is so special about this offer is that the Chinese government is taking a special interest in signing the Swedish superstar. However, there is still ambiguity over which CSL club Chinese government is representing in its bid to sign Ibrahimovic.

A similar offer had arrived for Ibrahimovic from Far East last year, although the pay offered was less lucrative than the current offer. But the 35-year-old striker from Sweden decided to give a miss to the offer and instead joined Red Devils to play under the manager Jose.

Ibrahimovic has so far netted 16 goals in 25 appearances for Manchester United. His goal scoring exploit has left a positive impression on manager Mourinho, who has agreed to offer an extension to his current contract.

The maverick manager had described Ibrahimovic as 'undroppable' last week.

Had Ibrahimovic shown keen interest in playing for the CSL club, the cash rich league from Far East would have gotten a huge boost following last week's sensational signing of Oscar from Chelsea.

The Chinese super league clubs have been on signing spree since the beginning of this year, attracting some of the biggest football stars including Hulk, Jackson Martinez, Ramires, and Graziano Pelle.

The league's ability to sign big names has propelled the reputation of the league, although in terms of quality, it is still far behind English Premier and Spanish La Liga.
