For some gamers, especially hardcore ones, resolution is the name of the game, which is why 4K monitors are seeing a meteoric rise. Recently, Dell took the stage at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show to unveil its newest creation, a new monitor with a stunning 8K resolution.

While most 4K monitors have a 3840 x 2160 resolution, Dell's newest UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD monitor has a stunning 7680 x 4320 resolution. For a 32-inch display, that is an impressive 280 pixel per inch density. Dell claimed that it is the equivalent of a 14-megapixel display.

Aside from its impressive resolution, Dell's newest monitor is nothing short of technical specs. In terms of image quality, the monitor supports up to 1.07 billion colors with 100 percent sRGB and 100 percent Adobe RGB support, according to Hot Hardware. The monitor also supports Dell's newest PremierColor technology.

In terms of design, the Dell UP3218K has thin bezel on all sides, according to The Verge. The display can be adjusted to fit for optimum height, pivot, swivel, and tilt.

Dell general manager Frank Azor said that the 8K monitor was primarily designed for professionals working on graphics, photography, and design. With its specs, the Dell UP3218K is clearly design for professionals, which is why it is no wonder why Dell slapped it with a $4,999 price tag. The display will hit Dell's online store on March 23.

With its impressive set of specs, tech experts are wondering as to how much graphical processing power the Dell UP3218K will require in order to properly feed such massive resolution.
