Carmelo Anthony is reportedly ready to waive his no-trade clause and discuss getting traded to another NBA club if the New York Knicks want him gone, according to latest reports.

The New York Post reported that the nine-time All-Star had expressed his willingness to talk with team president Phil Jackson regarding a possible trade if the Zen Master does not want him in a Knicks uniform anymore.

The report cited an article by FanRag Sports' Charley Rosen, a known Jackson confidante, as saying that "the only sure thing is that Carmelo Anthony has outlived his usefulness in New York", which said to have evoked a bitter feeling on former NBA scoring champion.

"If that's the case, if that's where it's coming from, that side, I guess it's a conversation we should have," said Anthony. "If they feel my time in New York is over, I guess that's a conversation we should have."

This was the first time that the 32-year-old had acknowledged a potential trade away from New York as he had been adamant that he is committed to the franchise and is keen to stay to finish its rebuild.

"Listen, if that's how they feel, if that's coming from that side, then that's what's coming from that side," he said. "I haven't thought once about that. I hear it, hear all the rhetoric going on out there. I still come to work every day, play and bust my ass and try not to worry about it."

However, ESPN indicated Anthony also admitted that he had never thought about waiving his no-trade clause or asking for a trade amidst the trade rumors that had been hounding him for the past several years.

The Knicks has been reeling right now with only two wins in their last 13 games after starting the season with a 16-13 slate, enough for third in the East. The team is 18-24 at the moment and has dropped to 11th place, three games behind current eighth-seeded squads Charlotte Hornets and Milwaukee Bucks.
