Alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note Successor Will Killer Specs to Compete with Meizu MX4

Xiaomi is said to be working on a new handset that will compete against the Meizu MX4 and according to reports, will be a Redmi series device with high-end specs.

The smartphone is speculated to be released as a successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Note released in March 2014. The Xiaomi blog already revealed the details and price tag of the rumored device.

The handset still has an undisclosed product name but is reportedly a dual SIM smartphone that will be powered by an octa-core MT6595 MediaTek processor and 3 GB of RAM. The chipset has four Cortex A-17 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four Cortex A-7 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz.

According to reports, the MediaTek chip has undergone AnTuTu benchmark tests and has a score of 47,233. Its score clearly shows the new NediaTek processor is a big powerhouse.

Other specs of the supposed Redmi Note successor are a 5.5-inch display, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage, 20.7 megapixel primary camera, 8 megapixel secondary camera, 4G LTE, Dual-SIM, NFC, temperature sensor, gesture control and 3500 mAh battery capacity.

The Redmi Note successor is priced at $165 for the 16 GB, $215 for the 32 GB and $245 for the 64 GB. The price of the 128 GB variant is still unknown, as well as its availability and release.

The Redmi Note released in March 2014 had a 5.5-inch display screen with HD resolution and 267ppi. It has a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor with Mali-450MP4 and 1 GB of RAM. It was also loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
