Nexus owners can now access a new Paranoid Android firmware. The team announced the PA 4.6 Beta 1 early September and issued a new update each week.

The Beta 2 upgrade was out three weeks after the Beta 1 rolled out and promises an improved user experience.

According to reports, the Paranoid Android team previously said they'd incorporate Android L visual components to the builds. The announcement came following Google's Android L introduction during the I/O conference.

Paranoid Android 4.5 has new card-based Android L screens while the Paranoid 4.6 features an Android L-specific Dynamic Status Bar.

According to the PA official blog, the 4.6 Beta 2 software changelog includes a clean up of DSB animations, reduction of DSB Screen polling, correct update of the lock screen track info, improvement of general graphics performance, update of the OPO drivers and addition of other minor improvements, CM's changes for TE and addition of USB OTG support for Flo (Nexus 7 2013).

Those who unlocked the bootloader successfully, rooted their device and flashed a custom recovery have to download the PA 4.6 Beta 2 and Gapps.

They have to copy the files on their device and boot into recovery mode. They should then select install ZIP and go to the location where they copied PA and Gapps. They have to flash the files like any ZIP file and apply factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik and reboot.
