The family of Andrew released a statement from the hospital saying "We express our thanks for the amazing support from the community, as well as from everyone around the world that have been praying for us all through this tragic event".

Fryberg's family added that they felt grateful to the hospital for all the effort and medical attention they provided.

The shooting at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School cafeteria killed three teenage girls Zoe Galasso, Gia Soriano and Shaylee Chuckulnaski, all aged 14.

The accused shooter, Jayden, also died after shooting himself on the day of the incident.

Nate Hatch, 14, who was shot on the jaw, was discharged from the Haborview. He is also a cousin of Jayden.

The Hatch and Fryberg families were both members of the prominent Native American Tulalip Tribe.

Brandon Hatch, 26, the boys' cousin, said that the three victims were close and that there were no signs of trouble among them prior to the incident.

"Nate and Jaylen and Andrew grew up together," he added. "They'd go over to each other's houses on the weekend, after school, and play games, play sports together."

Authorities have continued to investigate behind the shooting and have been looking into text messages and social media accounts of everyone involved.

"The question everybody wants is, why? I don't know that the why is something we can provide," said Snohomish County Sheriff Ty Trenary.

Jayden was a popular student in his school. He was a football player and was just crowned homecoming prince a week before the killing.
