The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 Google Play Editions was scheduled to be released this week but was postponed at Google's request.

Google is said to be requesting a different software version and HTC is waiting for approval before it can release the update officially.

HTC VP for Product Management Mo Versi tweeted about the delay of the Android 5.0 Lollipop for HTC One GPE devices. He said the release didn't happen on Nov. 22 as Google requested another SW spin.

He promised to update his followers once they receive approval. He didn't explain why Google requested a new software version and how long the approval will take. HTC targeted an original timeline for Android 5.0 Lollipop on HTC One GPE last week but like other previous Android updates, HTC will roll out the update in stages.

People may have to wait for the notification but others may have to confirm with carriers. The update availability may depend on the network provider and location while people may also manually check the system.

Users only need to go to Settings and About phone > System updates > Check now.

Other reports also mentioned some announcements from Nokia, revealing plans for its NI tablet. Android 5.0 Lollipop updates were also leaked for Samsung Galaxy Note 3. A SamMobile report showed a video of it running the new mobile OS. It shows that Samsung's TouchWiz UI appears the same as that of last year's.
