Double Fine has announced new information for Broken Age Act 2, coming early in 2015. The second act will reportedly feature 8 to 12 hours of new play time, making it considerably longer than the first instalment.

In an overview of the project, Greg Rice claimed alpha testing is going smoothly and no bugs have become present in play-testing. Both protagonists are on the alpha-stage and Double Fine is moving quickly to a release.

The final finale will go into alpha testing later this month and Double Fine will work into January on beta testing, to make sure the second act is complete for an early 2015 release.

For those unaware, Broken Age is a puzzle platformer that focuses heavily on the narrative and storyline. Fans of Double Fine bought into the campaign for Tim Schafer and other legendary names in the video game industry.

Broken Age is one of Double Fine's two Kickstarters and has went through significant revamp, following issues with initial funding, leading to a double release.

For fans who backed the game, it has been a long wait for the final game. Double Fine could not pull together the necessary funds to release a finished game. The second act will be the finale for Broken Age.

The misjudgement of money has put a lot of people against Double Fine, who have an old reputation with the PC community. The lack of money management by Tim Schafer and other executives has lead customers to not fund the other Kickstarter, Massive Chalice.

Double Fine has seen better days however, recently laying off a few employees to keep paying the bills. The studio had to drop an unnamed project and has been moving away from Kickstarter as a payment source, after the money issues.
