Jason David Frank - also known as the Green Ranger Tommy, from the Power Rangers series - has challenged former professional wrestler turned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter, Phil "CM Punk" Brooks. And things are heating up.

The announcement of Brooks' signing to the UFC was a shocker for most fighters and fans worldwide.

The shock came as Brooks has no professional experience nor record as of yet. When UFC President Dana White was asked why they signed Brooks, he said that it was to help Brooks fulfil a dream.

This reason did not sit well with most in the community.

Apart from the apparent problems with Brooks' signing, there is also a problem of matching him with the correct fighter for his first fight. Even matching a fighter with three fights in an organization will be a questionable thing for a fighter with a 0-0 record.

Enter Frank, who turned to social media just days after the announcement went off. Best known for his role as the green ranger, he is actually a lifelong mixed martial arts (MMA). He offered to face Brooks in the debut fight.

When Brooks was asked about the challenge, he laughed off the notion and denied he ever heard about the challenge.

"I like CM Punk, I think he's a great guy.  I've been watching all of his interviews, we've been on tour together.  I'm not sure why he says he doesn't know me," Frank said, when speaking to FOX Sports.

Frank says that Brooks is naïve when he pretends not to know about him. It tells Frank two things; that Brooks is annoyed and that he doesn't want to give credibility with the fans, or he is just scared.

The main thing that really bugs Frank though is not that Brooks might say no to it. It is the fact that the former professional wrestler may have been lying that he heard anything about the challenge.

For Frank though, he believes he is also in the right place, experience and record-wise to challenge Brooks for his first fight.
