BlackBerry is launching a new tablet but instead of working on a new PlayBook, it's borrowed the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from Samsung's lineup and customized it.

The end result is a new tablet called the Secutablet, a partnership between BlackBerry, Samsung and IBM.

Secutablet is focused on the enterprise, like everything from BlackBerry recently and has new security features fit for business and government.

Secutablet uses a new encryption platform from Secusmart, a startup BlackBerry acquired last year. It encrypts phone calls and text messages between employees using a new generated key each time to make sure no snoopers can track more than one call or message.

In addition to Secusmart's encryption technology, BlackBerry is also deploying IBM's software to partition secure apps away from personal apps like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, allowing the tablet to be multipurpose and part of a CYOD (choose-your-own-device) program.

This means even if a user downloads a malware application, it won't be able to infect apps in the secure zone.

It's not the first time BlackBerry has partnered with Samsung. BlackBerry agreed to partner on the KNOX security platfor, and before that worked to bring BlackBerry Messenger to Samsung Galaxy devices in Africa.

No word on the price for the Secutablet. The tab will most likely only be available through enterprise connections in bulk orders.
