NBA Trade Rumors: Clippers’ Dahntay Jones Shuts Down Rumors of Chris Paul-DeAndre Jordan Rift

Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Dahntay Jones denied recent rumors of a rift between his teammates Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, according to The Score's Kimberly John.

"Guys fight and argue on the court, but that's just the emotion of the game," Jones said in an interview with TMZ Sports. "Those guys are brothers, man. They sit with each other on the plane, on the bus. If you don't like a guy you stay away from him."

Jones also noted that the media is just sensationalizing their disputes on the court, saying "people want to blow things out of proportion."

Rumors have recently surfaced that Paul was allegedly disappointed at their slam-dunking center for not working out to get better at shooting free throws, as written by Kurt Helin of NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk. Fox Sports' Bill Reiter also tweeted about the supposed conflict, saying that it "could push Jordan to another team in free agency."

However, Clippers coach Doc Rivers have stressed that their number one priority in the offseason is to retain the 6-foot-11 center and give him a max contract.

Currently, one of a few teams rumored to be seeking the services of Jordan is the Los Angeles Lakers. But with the Lakers snatching the No. 2 pick in the draft, they could potentially acquire a young center in the person of Jahlil Okafor, so they might be changing their minds about pursuing Jordan.

Besides, the Clippers are the only team that could give Jordan the highest paycheck at five years' worth $109 million. Other teams, including the Lakers, could only offer him $81 million for four years.

Now, that's a lot of zeroes for Jordan to stay in this side of L.A.
