Dallas Cowboys veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant has reportedly joined the team's organized team activities even if he has not yet formally signed his $12.8 million franchise tender, as per Kevin Parta of the NFL's official website.

Parta reported that Bryant worked out on "individual drills" and trainings at the Valley Ranch but did not took part in group activities, as should be the case for an unsanctioned player. Nonetheless, it was regarded as a welcoming sight by team officials and his teammates.

Although the 6-foot-2, 220-pound former Oklahoma State standout's franchise tender is so far still unsigned, he told reporters that he wants to be there for his teammates, as reported at The Dallas Morning News.

The article also mentioned Bryant's acceptance of the team's decision to "put the franchise tag on him," saying that it was "cool", it was business, and that he will always be a Cowboy.

Arriving in a training camp without having a formal offer sheet is not usual when it comes to the NFL, or any professional sports for that matter. This occurrence surely inspired Dallas coaches and players and is truly a positive sign that Bryant has no unpleasant feelings despite the delay in contract negotiations.

Bryant has been with the Cowboys in all five seasons of his professional career, which started in 2010 when he was drafted by the team as its 24th overall pick. This latest development is deemed by NFL pundits as a testament to his trust and loyalty towards the Dallas organization.

A two-time Pro Bowl participant, Bryant had been involved in only a single day during the first week of Dallas OTA's. There are six days of OTA's left in the next two weeks in line with the Cowboys' schedule before a compulsory three-day team minicamp starts on June 16, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

Archer noted that until he is an official part of the team roster, he will not be obliged to attend the minicamp. The same with the OTA's, attendance from unsigned players are all voluntary.

As soon as Bryant signs the $12.8 million tender, he will officially become a Cowboy. However, a new contract must be finalized not later than July 15 for him to play with the team for the long-term.
