Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson is back with the Minnesota Vikings and after a week of organized team activities, the former Oklahoma standout is said to be looking as sharp as ever. CBS Sports' Sean d'Oliveira reported that Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner confirmed that Peterson looked like he was never away from the game.

Turner recounted that the six-time Pro Bowl running back did not miss a step and was even at ease with the team's new plays and younger players. He remembered a lot of the Vikings' old playbook entries and was keen to be involved with its recent additions and modifications.

One of his teammates, cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, commented that he seemed to be out there "to prove a point". Peterson has not participated in recent interviews so his take on the comments was not yet disclosed as of press time.

The Vikings boast off one of the youngest and most exciting rosters in the NFL right now. Adam Schein, in his column at the league's official website, wrote that with the recent addition of Peterson the Minnesota Vikings became the second best team in the NFC behind the Aaron Rodger's led Green Bay Packers. He even compared the youthful Vikings to the NBA's Golden State Warriors, whose core players are now competing in the NBA Finals for the first time.

Schein went on to say that the Vikings would most probably enter the Super Bowl next year, and they may actually be the favorites to win it.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Ben Goessling reported that Peterson still has no secured contract from the Vikings for the last three years of his current deal. He is set to receive $12.75 million this coming season, but beyond that, there are no guarantees of how much he will earn. The running back was said to be initially displeased by it so he skipped the first week of OTAs. But he allegedly had a change of heart after a personal talk with head coach Mike Zimmer and so he returned on Tuesday.

Peterson, who was put by the team on the exempt/commissioner's permission list in September 2014 to resolve a child abuse case, is now officially back in the Vikings roster. This reportedly gave Zimmer a lot of confidence on their young offensive squad which he never had before.
