After losing out seven-foot Italian center Andrea Bargnani to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the Sacramento Kings are looking to acquire free agent Luc Mbah a Moute as a potential boost to the team's young frontcourt, as per Bleacher Report.

The Kings are reportedly planning to start the 6-foot-8 Cameroonian as a stretch four with DeMarcus Cousins at five and Rudy Gay at three. They have selected Willie Cauley-Stein sixth overall in the recent draft, but the seven-foot Kentucky center is deemed too raw and inexperienced to start alongside his veteran teammates.

Mbah a Moute is a seven-year pro with stints at Milwaukee, Minnesota, and Philadelphia. He actually played nine games for Sacramento back in 2013 before he was traded to the Wolves in November of that year for Derrick Williams. With his experience, the former UCLA Bruin is expected to provide some mentorship to Cauley-Stein.

Last season, Mbah a Moute averaged 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and a career-high 1.2 steals per game in almost 29 minutes of play a night on the Sixers' bench. Although his numbers were not that great, the 28-year-old was the catalyst of Philadelphia's defense that finished the 2014-2015 season as one of the top 15 most efficient in the league.

While he is not expected to play as many minutes with the Kings to give way to the Trill project, his value will be most felt in the locker room.

SB Nation mentioned that Mbah a Moute actually had experience mentoring as well, being an "advisor" to hard-luck Sixers big man Joel Embiid in Cameroon and during his one-season stay in Philadelphia.

Sacramento head coach George Karl is expected to make the most out of the wing man's ability to guard four positions, especially in today's evolving style of small ball play.

While there are no announced figures as of the moment, NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk reported that it is most "likely a league minimum deal or something close to it." With his new role, it was also said that Mbah a Moute is ready to take a "smaller role" on the court to have a more prominent one off it.
