On Aug. 18, the Taiwanese singer was reported to have been afflicted with muscle atrophy due to her prolonged inactivity. She needs to undergo physio exercise and remain in the hospital for further observation. Aside from a decrease in muscle mass, Hsu also suffered from swollen breasts and uterine contractions that led her to tag her situation as "living the life of a cow and a sow."

"Really, it's no ordinary pain! I can only say, 'respect to women'," Hsu told her fans on Facebook.

On Friday, she shared on social media that she was finally able to relieve herself in the restroom albeit with the assistance of hospital staff. Hsu described her walk as "turtle speed" but she was happy to note that making 40 steps is already an achievement.

"Even though my thighs rubbed against each other and my forehead was beaded with sweat (and) I moved at turtle speed, I finally walked the furthest distance (I've traveled in a while), 40 steps. After all, I can do it!" Toggle quoted Hsu cheering herself on.

While in hospital confinement, Hsu expressed her worry that she might never get her pre-pregnancy figure back but now has found a strong motivation to be in the best of health. In an article by Toggle, Hsu reportedly lost 6 kg. in just 10 days after giving birth.

While not losing weight on purpose, Hsu is keen to get well and be strong as soon as possible to take care of her son Dalton. According to her manager, the first-time mother wants to continue breastfeeding for six months to give her baby "the most natural nutrition."

"Even though every step is nail-bitingly tough, I magically find the determination, strength and will to block out pain when I think of it being one step closer to you at a time," Hsu wrote in her open letter to Dalton.

Hsu has since been brought home to recuperate while her husband Sean Lee, cousin, and mother-in-law take turns in taking care of her baby. She is expected to resume her showbiz commitments in March 2016.
