Just a day into the unofficial NBA trade season, recent reports have emerged that the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets are already discussing a potential trade that will send disgruntled power forward Markieff Morris to Houston in exchange for Terrence Jones and Corey Brewer.

Sheridan Hoops' Michael Scotto reported the scenario, although Brewer cannot be traded until January 15 as those free agents who are signed using Early Bird or Full Bird will only be eligible until then.

Jones has been mentioned in a lot of NBA trade rumors lately as he is also included in Fansided's list of the top five "noteworthy players garnering interest" this midseason.

With the trade restriction from recently-signed free agents lifted last Dec. 15, except for 28 players who are under the Early Bird and Full Bird deals mentioned above, NBA teams are expected to be busy wheeling and dealing from then until this season's February deadline is reached.

The report noted that "several teams have reached out to general manager Daryl Morey in an attempt to acquire the versatile" Jones.

The 23-year-old, three-year pro has been stagnant in Houston's rotation and his development as a premier offensive force is stalled as he has to play behind his more illustrious teammates such as James Harden, Dwight Howard, and even Ty Lawson and Trevor Ariza.

Moving to Phoenix in exchange for Morris would be beneficial for Jones career and to the Suns' future as well.

Meanwhile, Morris is slowly falling out with Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek as he gets less and less playing time and more DNP's in the Arizona team's past several games, ESPN reports.

With reports leaking out that Houston and Phoenix are already in talks for a power forward swap, it is only a matter of time before this rumor becomes official.

In other Rockets news, Dwight Howard is reportedly on the trading block as well with speculations of his "unhappiness" with the team buzzing online.

It was reported that Howard "could potentially demand a trade out of Houston during midseason" as he is not content with the direction the franchise is going and the attitude of the team's best player, James Harden.
