Recent football transfer rumors have emerged that Premier League powerhouse Arsenal FC had taken interest in young FC Barcelona striker Munir El Haddadi and is preparing an undisclosed bid for the 20-year-old when the winter transfer window opens this January.

Caught Offside reported the Gunners' interest in the former Barcelona B player, saying that "Arsenal could look to make a move" for the young Barça forward "in the January transfer window as they look to take advantage of his lack of first team football".

The report said that since joining Barça's senior team, the Spanish footballer has not produced what the Catalonia club had expected. It added that "it has been 15 months since the youngster added to his last goal, and sources close to the club believe he could be open to an exit in the near future if the right offer came along".

With that, there are speculations that the El Escorial, Spain native could also move to the Premier League and emulate fellow Barça graduates Gerard Deulofeu, who recently joined Everton, and Adama Traore, who is now playing with Aston Villa.

Arsene Wenger is said to be interested in the young man, as per Metro, as the 66-year-old manager is reportedly looking for someone who can backup resident striker Olivier Giroud and become the striking future of the Gunners as well.

If the transfer will push through, it is expected that Munir will train under Giroud's wings at the Emirates, which is to the benefit of both the club and the player.

Reports have also said that Munir is mutually interested in joining Arsenal and so the deal may be inevitable as soon as the transfer window reopens this January.

Meanwhile, in other Arsenal transfer rumors, Wenger reportedly had denied speculations that the Gunners are also targeting Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and Southampton's Victor Wanyama this January.

"We just said that Olivier Giroud is a great striker, so behind that we cannot buy Karim Benzema," said Wenger after he was asked by reporters if they will renew their interest in the French striker.

About Wanyama, the manager said that "I rate the player but we are not on the case."
