When Google first released a preview version of Android N, the Night Mode feature was hidden deep in the developer settings. This time around, the Night Mode feature is part of the system user interface settings menu.

Activating the feature still requires the same steps. First users have to long press the settings shortcut located in the quick settings tray and somewhere at the bottom part of it is the "Color and appearance" menu where the Night Mode feature can be activated.

The subsequent menu will show a toggle at the top part of it so that users can turn it on or off. There is also a toggle for automatic activation which when enabled will automatically set the device on Night Mode when the sun sets in the user's current location.

Under the "When Night Mode is on" tab is where most of the settings are located. There is a toggle to enable Dark Them for Android, a toggle for adjusting tint and a toggle for adjusting brightness.

According to GizMag, the option to adjust tint will allow users to apply a red filter to the entire Android operating system. Tech analysts likened this feature to the Twilight app but more efficient since they believe that the feature is making its tweaks at the GPU level.

There is also a Night Mode feature that when turned on will automatically lower the smartphone's brightness. Initial tests made by tech analysts reveal that all the three features can be turned on at once, according to Android Police.
