It is safe to say that the last few years have seen an increase in reboot adaptations. Whether it is in film, television, or gaming, new installments of cult titles have received new found popularity.

This statement cannot be truer when it comes to upcoming videogame releases. In fact, just recently, it has been confirmed that "Postal," which is arguably one of the most popular independent games released in 1997, would be resurrected and would be available on Steam very soon.

 Running with Scissors, the developer of the isometric third-person shooter video game, recently announced on their official website the upcoming release of the "Postal" reboot - "Postal Redux." According to the statement, the game would pay respect to the original title with some improvements and upgrades.

"The core of what made the original POSTAL world-renowned returns as strongly as ever in POSTAL Redux; the tense atmosphere, demonic narrator and unapologetic subject matter is faithfully updated in this modernized version of one of the most iconic symbols for free speech in gaming history," read a part of the announcement.

Steam has already created a game page description for the upcoming release of "Postal Redux." According to the Steam page, the new game would see a few new features.

"Postal Redux" would include a brand new Rampage mode that would enable players to incur points for multiple kill counts and unique methods of destruction. The game would also have a classic campaign with seventeen exciting levels. Every classic mode gamer would be starting from their character home. Their journey through the game would take them through The Mine and Trailer Park, The Ghetto, The City, and many more game locations.

Aside from the levels and locations, the game would also see a wide range of villains for gamers to defeat. Gamers would be equipped with 10 different weapons which include a shotgun, spray cannon, molotovs and flamethrowers.

The "Postal" reboot game, "Postal Redux," would be available for download on Steam on May 21, 2016. The PlayStation 4 version of the game is expected to be released before the end of this year.
