It was predicted to be a one-sided contest and it was. Serena Williams defeated first-time finalist Garbiñe Muguruza of Spain to claim her sixth Wimbledon title and overall 21st grand slam. The American dominated Centre Court with 29 winners and 12 aces to claim the 6-4 6-4 victory in just an hour and 23 minutes.

The world no. 1 easily dismantled the elder Williams with a score of 6-4 6-3, keeping her Grand Slam history bid alive.
