She holds the distinction of being the youngest winner in history. She beats out Mt. St. Joseph freshman Lauren Hill who player her first college basketball game while battling terminal brain cancer.

Also included on the list was three-time winner Serena Williams. The selection was announced last Monday.

Davis was the first girl to win a Little League World Series game, with a performance that captivated fans both young and old. In game, she wore an impenetrable gaze with an intimidating demeanor.

Off the mound though, she shed her tough exterior and let her pleasant personality shine through in her interviews.

Due to her amazing and inspiring performances, doors were opened to her. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated with her jersey displayed in baseball's Hall of Fame and was named Sports Kid of the Year by Sports Illustrated Kids.

Apart from that, she was able to meet the Obama family at the White House, star in a Spike Lee car commercial, marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and even presented Pharrell Williams with Soul Train's "Song of the Year" award.

Her skills extend far beyond baseball though, as she also has a talent for basketball and soccer. In addition, she is also an honor student from South Philadelphia.

Her true aspiration is in playing basketball for the University of Conncecticut and eventually reaching the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Her message to everyone, especially girls: "Always follow your dreams. If there's something people tell you that you can't do it, go for it."
